Dirt Classic 5 at Lincoln Speedway Moved to Saturday, October 6

(DirtyMouth Communications) – September 21, 2018 – In light of the tragic loss of sprint car legend Greg Hodnett on Thursday evening, the Dirt Classic and Lincoln Speedway have made the decision to move the Dirt Classic 5 events from Saturday, September 22nd to Saturday, October 6th out of respect for the Hodnett family and to give teams, officials and the racing community time to grieve this kind, intelligent and passionate friend and competitor.

In the four runnings of the Dirt Classic since 2014, Hodnett never finished outside of the top ten. He was the winner of the 2016 Dirt Classic Showcase at Lincoln Speedway, earning a guaranteed starting spot in the main event’s A-Main, and posted his best finish of third place in that season’s Dirt Classic.

Although competitors always felt Hodnett’s skillful presence on the track, it was his influence off the track that most impacted the Dirt Classic and our racing family. It was an honor to work with Greg over the years to help shape this event.

All tickets for the Dirt Classic 5 will be honored in full at the October 6th date.
